Introduction
The Consortium for Globalization of Chinese Medicine was born in 2003 from a meeting attended by sixteen leading institutions in traditional Chinese Medicine organized by the Faculty of Medicine at The University of Hong Kong. It was during this meeting that a memorandum of understanding was signed by all sixteen founding institutions to form the Consortium for Globalization of Chinese Medicine (CGCM). The CGCM has since grown to 160 member institutes and 25 industrial affiliates.
The CGCM positions itself as a global, non-profit, non-discriminatory and non-political organization with a mission to advance Chinese herbal medicine to benefit all of human kind through joint efforts of the academic institutions, industries and regulatory agencies around the world, by achieving our goals.

· Develop platform technologies required for advancing Chinese herbal medicine by joint efforts.
· Facilitate the interaction and collaboration among different institutes in advancing Chinese herbal medicine by sharing information.
· Promote high quality research and development of Chinese herbal medicine internationally.
· Assist industry which is interested in developing Chinese herbal medicine products and regulatory agencies around the world.
· Bring Chinese herbal medicine into cornerstone for developing future medicine (West meets East)
Welcome Message
On behalf of the Consortium for Globalization of Chinese Medicine (CGCM), it is a great pleasure for me to invite you to join the 20th CGCM Meeting, which will be held on 19-22 August, 2024 in Hengqin. The Meeting is organized by CGCM Macau Chapter this year, with the joint effort of many local institutes and members, Macau University of Science and Technology in particular.
The Meeting aims to foster academic exchanges and research collaborations on various frontiers of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in pursuing the goal of advancing the field of TCM and benefit human kind. A variety of themes will be covered during the 3-day meeting, including acupuncture, bioinformatics, clinical investigations, Chinese Medicine resources, natural products, polychemical activities and mechanism studies, regulation and interregional collaborations in academia, government and industry. Interactive panel discussions will be the highlights of the program, I am confident that the meeting will be an invaluable opportunity for experts and professionals in the field to exchange new insights and be rewarding to all participants.
